Takezo the Unrivalled Mythic Tale Guide in Ghost of Yotei (Dueling Tree Locations)
Every region in Ghost of Yotei has a Mythic Tale that often rewards the player with a unique armor set or a variety of different rewards. Players can find out about the Tale of Takezo and will have to complete two quests to complete his questline. The quests are pretty straightforward but include a very long climbing section. The guide below offers a walkthrough on both of the quests and what rewards players can expect to get from them in Ghost of Yotei.
Takezo the Unrivalled Mythic Tale Guide in Ghost of Yotei (All Dueling Trees)
How to Start Takezo the Unrivalled Mythic Tale in Ghost of Yotei
To start this Tale, you need to come across any one of the five Dueling Trees in the different regions. All five of these Dueling Trees have a disciple of Takezo who wants to prove they are the best to fight Takezo. You do not have to worry about who to visit first, as the quest requires defeating all of them. The trees are quite big in size and unique, so you will be able to easily distinguish them from far away. The table below shows the location of all the Dueling Trees and the reward from defeating the Ronins:

- Takezo’s Charm of the Stout Heart: Increases potency of the Heal Technique by a minor amount.
Finding Takezo in Ghost of Yotei
After you have killed all the Ronins at the Dueling Trees, your next objective will be at the Southern Coast of Yotei Grasslands. Ride your horse there, and you will find a campsite. Wait for Takezo here, and when he arrives, follow him to the shoreline below. You will have a Spar with him, where you will learn the Dual Katanas Spirit Attack at the end of the fight, which finishes the quest.
The Five Teachings Mythic Tale Guide in Ghost of Yotei
This previous quest is not the end of your interactions with Takezo, as your next quest will be to make your way to the top of Mount Yotei to meet Takezo there. If you have already made your way to the top for the Charm, you can simply fast-travel there. However, in the case that you haven’t, travel to the Mount Yotei Shrine, which is to the northwest of the Yotei River. From here, you can start a long and strenuous journey to the top of the mountain.
Once you reach the top, head towards the campsite and equip all of the Takezo Charms you have acquired. Interact with the campfire, and Takezo will appear, and after a short conversation, you can follow him and challenge him. This fight is quite difficult, especially on harder difficulties. He will use several attacks that either need to be dodged or parried, but your reactions need to be on point.
If you are unable to beat him for some time, you can lower the difficulty without having to worry about there being a difficulty trophy.
Once you defeat Takezo, you will get the Straw Hat of the Unrivalled and the Gilded Night & Gilded Dawn (Weapon Kit). You will also get the Unrivaled trophy.
